The trilateral grant agreement is worth 18.6 million euros for the construction of the Sebzor HPP signed by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade

In order to fulfill the instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade as co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan with the European Union, the Federal Republic of Germany and the Swiss Confederation attracted 55.2 million US dollars for the construction of the Sebzor HPP and its energy infrastructure in the Roshkala region of GBAO with a capacity of 11 MW.

July 22, 2020 Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Z.A. signed a trilateral grant agreement with the German Development Bank for the construction of the Sebzor HPP in the amount of 18.6 million euros, which is a grant provided by the European Union.

It should be recalled that on August 2, 2019, an Agreement on Financial Cooperation was signed between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, according to which Germany provided a grant of 17 million euros for the construction of the Sebzor HPP.

Also on December 2, 2019, between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Swiss Confederation to finance the construction of a 110 kV power transmission line "Sebzor-Khorog", an open switchgear 110 kV, measures to mitigate the effects of climate change, a grant agreement was signed in the amount of $ 9.55 million. USA

At the same time, the World Bank provided a grant of US $ 1.9 million to prepare a feasibility study for the 110 kV power transmission line Khorog-Ishkashim and US $ 3 million from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to conduct the necessary research and increase the capacity of Pamir Energy OJSC.

It should also be noted that an Agreement was signed on the allocation of funds to Tajikistan in the amount of 1 million euros to cover the needs of the republic in the fight against the new coronavirus COVID-19 from the Federal Republic of Germany through the German Development Bank - KfW.

As part of this ceremony, a grant agreement of 1 million euros was also signed for medical assistance, including registration of the disease and training of medical personnel to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
